Purple Heart Ceremony Honors Retired Army Reserve Medic’s Service and Sacrifice

Retired U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. 1st Class Christina Larson received the Purple Heart during her retirement ceremony Feb. 20, 2026, for wounds sustained during a 2015 deployment to Afghanistan. Brig. Gen. Todd Traver, deputy commanding general of the 807th Theater Medical Command, presented the award honoring Larson’s service as a combat medic with the 911th Forward Surgical Team.
