Spc. Xitlaly Pena, a combat medic with the 2nd Battalion, 142nd Field Artillery Brigade, responds with her team to a pedestrian who had been struck in the crosswalk. The immediate response of Pena and her team, resulted in saving the pedestrians life. Pena and her team were awarded Joint Service Commendation Medals for their valiant efforts to provide the injured pedestrian the best form of care until transport arrived. Pena speaks to her training and her team when asked about the incident.
