From Flight Deck to Final Honors: Pittsburg, Texas Native Proudly Serves the Navy Reserve

Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Aircraft Handling) 2nd Class Tysin Brandon, a Navy Reservist from Pittsburg, Texas, serves on Active Duty for Operational Support (ADOS) orders at Navy Reserve Center Shreveport, where he coordinates funeral honors. Brandon, who enlisted in 2016, credits the Navy with transforming his life from a path of uncertainty to one of structure, discipline, and purpose. With eight years of service, including deployments aboard two aircraft carriers, he has trained junior Sailors and fulfilled high-pressure responsibilities, including aircraft firefighting and directing flight deck operations. His upbringing taught him resilience, which has proven vital throughout his military journey. Today, Brandon finds deep meaning in honoring fallen Sailors and helping guide new ones. He emphasizes that the Navy gave him a second chance, and he proudly represents the strength and legacy of the Navy Reserve aligned with the Chief of Naval Operations’ vision for a force that is agile, lethal, and indispensable to national defense.
